  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Optional: 1 cup frozen peas, green beans, or corn; 1 teaspoon paprika or garlic powder; ½ cup cream cheese; 1 teaspoon dried thyme or parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter and sauté onions and garlic until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, half of the shredded cheese, and any optional vegetables or seasonings.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and spread evenly. Top with a layer of frozen tater tots and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the tater tots are crispy and golden.
