  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

For the Meatballs:

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.

For the Stroganoff Sauce:

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their juices and start to brown.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet, simmer for 10-15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and sauce is well combined.

For Serving:

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions or prepare mashed potatoes.
  2. Serve meatballs and stroganoff sauce over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the sauce.
  • If you prefer, you can use turkey or pork instead of beef for the meatballs.
