Ingredients
Scale
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
1 tbsp milk (if needed for dough consistency)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla extract.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Roll dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes for easier handling.
Roll out dough to about ¼-inch thickness and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
Place cookies on the baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra softness, slightly underbake and allow cookies to set while cooling.
Chill dough before rolling for easier shaping.
Add a pinch of cinnamon for a subtle flavor twist.
